The lush tea gardens at almost every state especially Assam and its districts, never fails to mesmerize tourists visiting the region. Dibrugarh is known to be the Tea Capital of India.   • In Assam, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar and Jorhat has the most of tea gardens of which some are famous because of its organic tea cultivation. You can choose to get involved in some other activities like tea garden walks, cycling across gardens, tea tastings and so much more.
  • Temi Tea Estate of Sikkim is a major estate and is famous among tourists as well. You can make day visits to this property and buy packaged organic tea before returning.
  • Meghalaya has several tea estates in the East Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi districts. Because of the hilly terrain, these gardens are a treat to the eyes of visitors. Tripura also boasta of several tea garden estates of which Durgabari Tea Estate near Agartala is a prominent one.
  • Arunachal, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland do not boast of many tea estates. There are few scattered along Pasighat and Wakro in Arunachal and in Manipur, the Nillai Tea Estate is noteworthy.
